North Coast Maui Engagement Session :: Sabrina + Stephen

Maui-Engagement-Phototgrapher-0036

Sabrina and Stephen were a treat to photograph. It was quite the blustery day, but these two had no fear and the wind just added a wild element to their maui engagement session. We like wild. We like free, and we like lovers who let loose in front of our lenses like these two did.  We hiked through bushes and walked along maui sea cliffs (sometimes a little too close for comfort) to capture the love that these two shared for one another.

This editorial shoot was created to celebrate the simple beauty of the impending summer season. We imagined a free spirit dancing among the earthly ruins of Old Maui High, an unexpected setting in Maui, Hawaii.

Golden Bohemian Wedding in Lima, Peru :: Karen and Sean

“He probably looked like a normal guy in a sweater to everyone else, but to me, I don’t know what it was – I saw him and instantly felt happy, secure, so hopeful. ” ~ Karen

Karen from California, and Sean from Lima, Peru tied the knot in the gorgeous Saint Peter’s Church in Lima on April 26th 2014. Built in 1638, this church is part of the very cultural and historic Centre of Lima. The architecture and art were absolutely breathtaking. Family and friends traveled from all over the States and South America to celebrate with Karen and Sean and we can understand why. Karen and Sean were amazing hosts, showing everyone the utmost respect and treating everyone as if they were all the guest of honor. These two are great people, in love and so into family, culture and tradition. We had such a great time being around them :)

Arturo De Noriega of La Fete Event Planning and a select team of elite Lima Wedding Professionals collaborated  to create this stunning Golden Bohemian Wedding Reception at the Marishenko’s House in Barranco, a small coastal town in a very artsy, hipster part of Lima. Some of the highlights of their event were the jaw-dropping details picked and hand painted by Sean’s mother, the exquisite peruvian cuisine and heavenly desserts carefully put together by Martha Caceda with Lucha Parodi’s Creatividad Culinaria, live music by Elvira Zhamaletdinova and the famous “Hora Loca” (Crazy Hour)…a traditional Peruvian wedding event. Just when the wedding party is winding down, a team of dancers show up with costumes, hats, balloons, masks etc …. and they get everyone (we are talking toddlers to grandparents) up dancing again and party rages on until early hours the next day. They know how to throw a party in Lima!

Thank you Karen and Sean for making us a part of your incredible wedding! It was an honor documenting your day! Until we meet again!

Aloha,

Dmitri and Sandra

Erin and Manuel – Maui Wedding Portrait Session

Erin and Manuel were such a pleasure to photograph. They were married at the Westin Maui Resort. We were so sad that we did not get to photograph their wedding as we had a prior commitment on their date. However I was extremely honored that  they opted to do a after wedding portrait session with me (Dmitri) a few days later. They were down for anything – including getting on a sketchy rope swing to get a couple fun shots. I truly enjoyed their company and capturing their love :) Great times!
